Alberto Maria Genovese

Who he is

An entrepreneur, born in Naples in 1977. He founded Facile.it in 2008, Seguros.es in 2010, Prima Assicurazioni in 2014 and brumbrum in 2015. He studied at Bocconi and at INSEAD.

In 2020 he was arrested. The final sentence is six years, eleven months and ten days, made up of five years and four months for supplying narcotics and one year and seven months for sexual violence. On 16 April 2026 the supervisory court of Milan granted him semi-liberty.

In 2022 he set up, together with his sister Laura, a lawyer, the Fondazione Laura e Alberto Genovese ETS: free psychological support for the families of people living with addiction. Since 2026 the Foundation has been among the funders of the Movimento Italiano Diritti Detenuti.

In Hands Off Cain

The executive committee is chaired by Rita Bernardini, with Sergio D'Elia as secretary and Elisabetta Zamparutti as treasurer. Alberto Maria Genovese has been a member since July 2026, with responsibility for fundraising.

That responsibility covers the funding of the association's work: the visits to Italian prisons and the reports that come out of them, the database on the death penalty worldwide and the annual report derived from it, and the archive of news and documents the association has kept open since 1999.

The work runs along two roads. The first is the association's new website, built so that anyone who wants to support the campaigns finds clearly how to do it and what they are funding. The second is direct contact with the companies and philanthropists who choose to back the association on a specific project.
