four out of every 10 of Uruguayan are in favour of capital punishment. According to a poll carried out by Interconsult, 43 percent of those who are in favour of applying capital punishment live in rural areas, 39 percent live in Montevideo, 45 percent are men, almost half of them younger than 40 years old; and 54 percent have a low education level.
