70-YEAR-OLD KENYAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR ROBBERY

at a Kenyan court, Magistrate Esther Boke sentenced Kuria Kihunyu, 70, to death for robbery with violence. Kihunyu allegedly robbed a man of his mobile phone and other personal items during an attack in September. Kihunyu, who did not have a lawyer and said he was innocent, has 14 days to appeal.
