A Bangkok Post editorial said "even capital punishment has proven unsuccessful at deterring drug traffickers. Despite the death sentence, not a day goes by without a press report of one or two more drug gangs being busted.
Around 300 drug offenders are now on death row at Bang Kwang maximum security prison."
