A British crack cocaine addict who murdered two war veterans was given 26 life sentences, after his father gave evidence against him.
A former butcher, Andrew Aston, who also attacked 24 other pensioners in their homes, stayed in his cell as a jury delivered their verdicts.
His father, Roger Aston, said his son should be executed for his crimes: "I'd hang him, because as long as Andy's alive, every Christmas, every birthday, we'll remember him. "
The jury at Birmingham Crown Court took just under six hours to find Aston guilty of murdering George Dale, 87, and Francis Hobley, 80.
Passing sentence, Mr Justice Butterfield described the 29-year-old's offences as brutal and cowardly.
