A court in Nigeria's Kebbi State convicted two people to death by hanging for their involvement in separate robbery cases.
Justice Jean Omokri condemned Muhammad Sani after finding him guilty beyond any reasonable doubt of stabbing Babangida Usman to death and subsequently stealing his motorcycle.
Justice Omokri also sentenced Alhaji Magaji to death by hanging for attacking Ibrahim Shehu and robbing him of four thousand Naira after causing him to loose consciousness.
In a related development a Shariah court of appeal sentenced a thirteen-year-old boy, name withheld, to have his right wrist amputated as sentenced by a lower Sharia court.
However, presiding judge, Khadi Muhammadu Zaria Musa, said the court would be lenient on the boy because of his age and sentenced him to 30 strokes of the cane.
