A criminal court in western Sudan sentenced five men to death by hanging after it found them guilty of murder. In a report from Nyala, capital of South Darfur State, the independent daily Al-Sahafa said the convicted men were from the Missairiyah tribe and their victim from the Ta'ayshah tribe, both from Arab stock. The man was killed in a quarrel. The court acquitted six other men involved in the case for lack of evidence, the paper said.
