a Dhaka court, in Bangladesh, awarded death penalty to five people in Ajit Karati murder case. The condemned convicts are Salahuddin, Gopal Karati, Monoranjan, Umesh Karati and Paran Karati. The court also sentenced two other convicts -- Radhakanta and Shahidul -- 10 years’ imprisonment each. Judge of the Speedy Trial Tribinal-3 ABM Sajedur Rahman handed down the verdict acquitting 12 other accused in the case. According to the prosecution, Ajit Karati was killed on April 20, 2010 in Keraniganj following a previous enmity over a piece of land.
