A former death row inmate was resentenced to death for a Jacksonville murder at a grocery store seven years ago. Circuit Judge William Wilkes sentenced Willie Miller, 40, to death for the murder of 60-year-old James Wallace, who was the security guard at Jung Lee Grocery Store on Acorn Street in July 1993. Miller was convicted in February 1995.In April 1999, the Florida Supreme Court ordered that Miller be resentenced because his defense didn't bring up sufficient mitigating factors that could have been considered in the sentence and the state should not have used burglary to help justify the death penalty.
