A group of European parliamentarians sent an urgent appeal to safe Safiya Hussaini, the woman who risks stoning in Nigeria.In the letter addressed to President Olusegun Obasanjo on behalf of 77 members of the European Parliament, European parliamentary member (MEP) John Corrie, Co-President of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly grouping MPs from Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, described the sentence facing the woman as "inhuman, barbaric and cruel"."I must express the deep concern felt by MEPs from all parties at the passing of this death sentence under sharia law on the young woman," said Corrie.
