a Herat urban court, in Afghanistan, in sentenced five Afghans to death and a sixth to 20 years in prison in a kidnap-murder case, an official said. The individuals confessed to kidnapping two brothers in the Jibrael area and killing one of them four months ago, Ghulam Rassoul Mansoor, the urban court chief, said. The kidnappers have the right to appeal the verdict, he said. About 100 sentenced criminals are awaiting execution in Afghanistan, Pajhwok Afghan News reported.
