A man in southern China's Guangxi province was sentenced to death for killing two people and injuring 10 others in a spate of rat-poisoning incidents. The defendant laced food and tea leaves with poison five times from December 2000 to September 2002, affecting more than 10 residents in his village, the People's Court Daily said. Two of the victims died. The report did not say what motivated the defendant to commit the crime.
