A Marion County jury on handed down the death penalty to Cory Maye for killing police officer Ron Jones. Jones was shot to death in December 2001 while conducting a drug search at 2 apartments in Prentiss. Maye testified that Jones did not identify himself as a police officer when he came into his apartment.
