A murderer was executed in public by the Taliban authorities in Maimana city in Faryab province of Afghanistan. The death penalty, awarded by a local court of Faryab province was also endorsed by the Supreme Court of Afghanistan. The convict Suleman son of Syed Ghayassuddin had killed Mulla Abdul Ghafoor son of Mulla Abdullah of Duldivan district after looting him. Thousands of Afghans witnessed the execution.
