a Saudi boy, Moeid bin Hussein Hakami, 16, was beheaded by the sword in the southern town of Jizan after he was convicted of murdering a child whom he had attempted to rape. The execution was announced by the interior ministry in a statement carried by the SPA state news agency. He had lured the boy, Fadel Nabeel, into the backyard of an abandoned house to sodomise him, where he killed him as he tried to stifle his voice with his hand, the ministry added.
The father of Moeid, Hussein Al-Hakami, claimed his son was unjustly killed.
Al-Hakami said his son was interrogated, convicted and beheaded, without the presence of an attorney or family member.
