a Superior Court jury unanimously recommended that Ambrose Sykes be sentenced to death for the murder and rape of 68-year-old Virginia Trimnell in 2004. The same jury found Sykes, 33, guilty Tuesday after 30 minutes of deliberations. Final sentencing will be handed down by Kent County Superior Court Judge William L. Witham Jr. at a later date.
