Abdel-Aziz al-Hakim, one of Iraq's leading Shiite Muslim politicians, said he was convinced Saddam Hussein would be executed if an Iraqi court heard his case.
Al-Hakim, head of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, said if the government and judicial system were just he could not be given amnesty.
He told Al-Arabiya television that Saddam had committed too many crimes to get off.
