ABOLITIONIST OF THE YEAR AWARD PRESENTATION CEREMONY AND LAUNCH OF HOC’S ANNUAL REPORT THE DEATH PENALTY WORLDWIDE

Hands Off Cain has the pleasure of inviting all subscribers of this newsletter to the event, organized in co-operation with the government of Senegal in honour of President Abdoulaye Wade, to be held on Friday 24 June, 2005 starting at 9.45 CET at Via di Torre Argentina 76, Rome.
Proceedings will take place in the following manner:
 
•       from 9.45 to 10.30 CET - presentation of the Abolitionist of the Year 2005 Award to President Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal, whose proposal led to the complete abolition of the death penalty  in Senegal on December 10, 2004, World Human Rights Day.
 
•       between 10.30 and 11.30 CET - launch of Hands Off Cain’s The Death Penalty Worldwide 2005 Report featuring a foreword by President Wade.
 
In addition to President Wade, also present will be Pier Ferdinando Casini, President of the Chamber of Representatives, Cesare Salvi, Vice President of the Senate, Marco Pannella and Emma Bonino, Members of the European Parliament, representatives of Italian institutions and ambassadors of various countries.
