About 16,000 Kurds demonstrated in the French city of Strasbourg to demand the release of Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan, who was sentenced to death in Turkey, police said. Demonstrators flowed in from Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and Britain to hold a peaceful demonstration in the city that is home to the European Court of Human Rights.
