Additional sessions judge S.M. Shembole sentenced Rahul Dashrath Bhongale to death for raping and murdering a four year old girl in November 1999. He was also sentenced to life imprisonment on two other counts, and to five years' rigorous imprisonment for kidnapping the girl and disposing of her body.
