A fourth person, Qudratullah, 17, from Uruzgan and cousin of the deceased child was given 15-years imprisonment for cooperating with the abductors, he had originally been sentenced to death but had the punishment commuted due to his age. The four were found guilty of murdering six-year-old Sher Muhammad after his family declined to pay a ransom.
