Alexander Hamilton, who was 18 when he murdered police Officer Larry Lasater, 35, after fleeing an armed robbery, should die by execution, a Contra Costa County jury recommended today.
The jurors convicted Hamilton, now 20, and his co-defendant, 20-year-old Andrew Moffett, last month of murder, robbery and special circumstances in the April 23, 2005, killing of Lasater.
Moffett was 17 at the time of the killing and not eligible for the death penalty.
Superior Court Judge Laurel Brady set a Nov. 2 sentencing date.
