Amnesty International published a new report "Poverty, isolation and ill-treatment. Juvenile Justice in Burundi" highlighting multiple abuses children suffer at the hands of the law. The report stated that over 15 children had been extra-judicially executed in the Rural Bujumbura and Bubanza provinces between January and April 2002 and that scores of new extra-judicial executions, including those of several children, had taken place since.
