An Afghani Supreme Court official said that three people suspected of involvement in the assassination of the former deputy head of state and public works minister, Haji Abdol Qadir, had pleaded guilty. Maj Naqibollah was sentenced to death under Article 3 of the law on crime against domestic and foreign security and under Article 39 of the Penal Law. He was charged with the assassination of the former adviser to the head of state and public works minister, Haji Abdol Qadir, his son in law, Jafar, and with injuring two of his bodyguards. Two other people involved the case, Maj Shah Zaman and Maj Sher Zaman, were sentenced to five and two years imprisonment respectively.
