Attending the Miss World contest in Nigeria this month would be a bold statement against the treatment of women in the country, according to Australia's representative Nicole Gazal. "By boycotting the Miss World Pageant, I believe I would be turning my back on such a serious crime against humanity," Ms Gazal said. "I will be going to Nigeria as an ambassador of my country, in particular the women of my country, who find the stoning of Amina repugnant. "I will speak openly and frankly on behalf of Amina and the thousands of other women suffering the same fate around the world."
