Azerbaijan was officially admitted to the Council of Europe

Azerbaijan was officially admitted to the Council of Europe. Azerbaijani President Heymar Aliyev said, "today's event is the result of the efforts made by the people of Azerbaijan over the past two centuries". Among Azerbaijan's achievements he listed the freedom of speech, the death penalty ban and it economic and political reforms.
