Bangkok Senator Chirmsak Pinthong said that capital punishment should be abolished, as it was not a practical solution to deter drug trafficking.
"Imprisonment for life is punishment enough. The job of corrections officials is not to kill (drug traffickers) but to rehabilitate them," he said.
