A Bagerhat court has sentenced five to death for the murder of a 25-year-old in Sadar Upazila six years ago.
Additional District and Session Judge Mohammad Mohiduzzaman gave the verdict on Tuesday (April 21).
The death row convicts are Rintu Mir, Fakir Ziaur Rahman Zia, Mannan Mir, Fayezul Chowdhury and Sheikh Alfaz Hossain Rubel.
Syeed Sheikh, also accused, was let off as the charges against him could not be proved.
Case details show the five had called out 25-year-old Taj Mir from the residence of his father Mohsen Mir of Patorpara Village. His body was found six days later buried near the house.
