A Dhaka court on May 27, 2024 awarded death penalty to Botswana national Lesedi Molapisi in a narcotics case filled over drug smuggling.

A Dhaka court on May 27, 2024 awarded death penalty to Botswana national Lesedi Molapisi in a narcotics case filled over drug smuggling.
The order was passed by Additional Metropolitan Session Judge, Court Number-8, Dhaka Md Aminul Islam.
Assistant bench officer of the concerned court Milon confirmed it on May 28.
On January 23 in 2022, Lesedi Molapisi, 30, was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport along with over 3.145kg of heroin.
She arrived at the airport on a flight of Qatar Airways from South Africa via Doha.
On the next day, a case was lodged against her with Airport Police Station.
