BANGLADESH: DRAFT BORDER GUARD LAW SUGGESTS CAPITAL PUNISHMENT

a draft law for the border security force containing provisions for the death sentence as the maximum punishment was submitted to the Bangladeshi Law Ministry. The law was drafted to make up for the inadequacies that came to light while deciding the trial of border guards who mutinied on February 25.
