BANGLADESH: FOUR SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER OF MADARIPUR TRADER
A Madaripur court has sentenced four people to death for the murder of trader Sohel Mollik.

A Madaripur court has sentenced four people to death for the murder of trader Sohel Mollik.
Madaripur District and Sessions Judge Sharif Uddin Ahmed announced the verdict on may 14.
The convicts are Sohel’s uncles Khalek Howladar, Mizanur Howladar and Shahin Howladar and his step-brother Al-Amin Khan.
All of the convicts are absconding, said Madaripur Court Public Prosecutor Emran Latif.
According to the case dossier, Sohel ran a clothing store at a local bazaar and lived with one of his uncles.
“A feud over property developed between Sohel, his three uncles and his step-brother. On the night of Aug 8, 2013 they hacked Sohel to death.”
Sohel’s father filed a case against the four the next day.
Police submitted the charge sheet against the four convicts on Jul 17, 2014.
