BANGLADESH: MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KILLING MENTALLY CHALLENGED WOMAN AFTER RAPE
A court in Manikganj on November 15, 2023 sentenced a man to death on the charge of killing a mentally challenged woman after rape at Singair upazila in the district in 2019.

A court in Manikganj on November 15, 2023 sentenced a man to death on the charge of killing a mentally challenged woman after rape at Singair upazila in the district in 2019.
The order was handed down by Manikganj Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Begum Tania Kamal.
The convict is Rokman Hossain Tona, 35, a resident of Boro Kaliakair area in the upazila.
According to the prosecution, Rokman slaughtered the mentally challenged woman after he raped her entering her house on December 5, 2019.
A case was filed by the victim's sister-in-law with Singair Police Station on December 6 accusing Rokman.
After that, police submitted a chargesheet against him to the court on April 18, 2020.
