at the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, judge AKM Sirajul Islam convicted a man and awarded him the death penalty for killing his wife in 2000.
The court also asked the Deputy Commissioner to realise Tk 25,000 from convict Jalaluddin and give it to the victim's seven year son Swadhin.
According to prosecution, Jalaluddin of Telipara village of Puthia upazila, beat his wife Sheuli Khatun to death on March 1, 2000 as she failed to give him Tk 50,000 as a dowry.
