the Bangladeshi High Court delivered a split verdict in the case of 21 death sentence awarded to Jama'tul Mujahideen members for a series of bomb blasts in Jhenidah on August 17, 2005. Justice Karim acquitted all the convicted, while justice Rab reduced the punishment of 14 to life imprisonment and acquitted the rest. The verdict would now be referred to the chief justice. The 21 accused were sentenced to death on February 28, 2006, by a special tribunal of Jhenidah.
