Dulal Mia, of Mymensingh, and Kabir Hossain, of Dhaka, were hanged, district prison chief Shah Alam informed reporters. The bodies were handed over to relatives. According to separate case statements, Kabir was sentenced to death for strangling his wife in 1997, and Dulal for raping a girl to death in 2002. Additional district magistrate Rashida Ferdous, civil surgeon SM Shamsul Alam, assistant superintendent of police Apel Mahmud, senior jail super Nurul Islam Mollah were among those present during the hangings, said the district jailer.
