the Brest Regional Court in Belarus sentenced a 30 year old stateless man to death for murdering and robbing six old women in villages near the town of Drahichyn in 2007 and 2008, Natallya Vasyarchuk, a departmental head at the Brest Regional Prosecutor’s Office, said.
The man sentenced to death reportedly carried out odd jobs for the elderly women using the opportunity to find out where their valuables were hidden, and then returned later and strangled them.
An appeal can now be made to the Supreme Court.
