the Supreme Court Of Benin affirmed the death sentence of a police sergeant for unlawfully murdering a man the sergeant claimed he was trying to arrest.

the Supreme Court Of Benin affirmed the death sentence of  a police sergeant for unlawfully murdering a man the sergeant claimed he was trying to arrest. The court said that Adegboye Ibikunle went beyond his limit and the requirement of law, killing an innocent person despite pleas that he was not the criminal being sought after. Accordingly, his presence in the house of the deceased was not in furtherance of a lawful arrest in the circumstances permitted by law.
