CHINA: COURT UPHOLDS OFFICIAL'S DEATH SENTENCE FOR CORRUPTION

a court in Liaoning Province upheld a lower court's ruling to sentence Pi Qiansheng, the former Party chief of an economic zone in Tianjin City of north China, to death with a two-year reprieve and confiscated his assets for taking bribes and abuse of power from 1995 to 2005.
