CHINA: DEATH UPHELD FOR FORMER DEPUTY MAYOR

the Higher People's Court of east China's Jiangsu Province upheld the death sentence of Jiang Renjie, formerly deputy mayor of Suzhou City, given to him by the Intermediate People's Court of Nanjing City, for accepting bribes from property developers from 2001 to 2004. Jiang's personal assets were confiscated and he was also stripped of his political rights for life.
