China executed Japanese man Mitsunobu Akano in Liaoning province for drug smuggling, the Supreme People's Court announced. No other details were provided. Japan's Kyodo news agency said Akano was convicted in 2008 of attempting to smuggle 2.5 kgs of drugs from China to Japan in 2006.
