CHINA: HENAN PROVINCIAL POLITICAL ADVISOR GIVEN SUSPENDED DEATH SENTENCE

Sun Shanwu, former vice chairman of the CPPCC Henan Provincial Committee in China, was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve. The Weifang Intermediate People Court in Shandong Province found Sun, 63, guilty of taking bribes of more than 9.1 million yuan from 2002 to 2006.
