A policeman was sentenced to death for killing a pregnant woman and injuring her husband at a restaurant in China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region.
Guigang Intermediate People's Court sentenced Hu Ping to death for intentional homicide and ordered him to pay a compensation of 73,324 yuan ($12,091) to the victim's family, reported Xinhua.
An investigation by the public security bureau showed Hu was drunk when he shot the couple, who ran a noodles restaurant, Oct 28, 2013.
The husband sustained minor injuries in his right shoulder, but the wife and her unborn child died.
The court heard the case in public February 13.
