Chen Ping, a former chief prosecutor in Qindu district, northwest China's Shaanxi province, was put to death for drugging his wife and then stabbing her to death.

Chen Ping, a former chief prosecutor in Qindu district, northwest China's Shaanxi province, was put to death for drugging his wife and then stabbing her to death. On September 28, 2003, Chen laced his wife's drink with tranquilizers. Once she was sound asleep, he bound her hands and legs, and then stabbed her 21 times. According to reports, marital problems over a seven-year period could have driven Chen to murder.
