the Sichuan Provincial Higher People's Appeals Court commuted the death penalty in a drunk driving case to life imprisonment, China Central Television reported. Sun Weiming, 30, was sentenced to death after being convicted for a fatal accident in December 2008 that killed four people and injured another in southwestern Chengdu.
