CHINA SENTENCES FORMER SENIOR POLICE OFFICER TO DEATH WITH REPRIEVE

former city police chief in south China's Guangdong Province Ye Shuyang, 54, was sentenced to death by the Intermediate People's Court of Heyuan City with a two-year reprieve for accepting bribes worth more than US$2.57 million between 2001 and 2008. The court also confiscated all of Ye's property.
