CHINA SENTENCES MAN TO DEATH FOR SCHOOL ATTACK

the Intermediate People's Court of Zhanjiang City in Guangdong, China, sentenced former teacher Chen Kangbing, 33, to death for a knife attack at the primary school in Leizhou city in southern China in April. Although no one died, 16 students and a teacher were wounded, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. It said Chen was a former teacher who suffered from mental illness and had been on sick leave since 2006.
