Qiu Chengwei, an unemployed man from Shanghai, was handed a suspended death sentence for murdering a rival over the use of his "supreme weapon" during an online video game, state media reported.
Qiu stabbed his victim, surnamed Zhu, after he refused to hand over 7,000 yuan (846 dollars) he agreed to pay for using the weapon in the Chuanqi game.
Qiu had won the 'dragon-slaying sword' after killing a monster in the game. Qiu turned himself in immediately after killing Zhu.
