China's Prosecutor-General Cao Jianming delivered the report on the work of the Supreme People's Procuratorate at the Second Session of the 11th National People's Congress, or parliament. The report revealed that, in 2008 China investigated 2,687 government officials for graft, malfeasance and infringement on people's rights, including four at the province or ministry level.
