the Iraqi appeals court said that Taha Yassin Ramadan, former Iraqi vice president’s life sentence was too lenient, and returned his case to the High Tribunal for reconsideration. The chief judge demanded he be sentenced to death instead for 1982 war crimes in the town of Dujail. Details of the orignal charges are: guilty of murder (sentenced to life in prison), guilty of forced deportation (sentenced to 10 years in prison), guilty of torture (sentenced to 7 years in prison), and guilty of inhumane acts (sentenced to 7 years in prison).
