the Taiwan Supreme Court approved the death sentence for Wang Hsiu-fang, who was convicted of murdering a woman and her daughter. He becomes the country's first new death-row inmate this year. After a domestic dispute, Wang became angry and attacked her, hitting her on the head with a stick. Wang said despite pleas from the woman's three-years old daughter, he killed her and subsequently strangled the girl as well. He dumped the two bodies in a hospital parking lot.
